"If I Had a Cheatin' Heart" was a hit a few years ago for Ricky Lynn Gregg.  "I Met a Friend of Yours Today" was recorded more recently by George Strait on the album Lead On.  Strait also recorded "Looking Out My Window Through the Pain" in 2000 for his self-titled album George Strait.  He specifically requested to record the song.  Interestingly, the producers had to search the Country Music Hall of Fame to find it.  "Smokey Mountain Memories" was covered in the early 80s by the song's co-writer, Earl Thomas Conley.  Conley also wrote and later recorded another of Mel's songs - "I've Hurt Her More Than She Loves Me" (also a hit for Conway Twitty).
